a. INtime Installation (Real-Time OS)
If you bought an sRMP (Industrial PC) from RSI INtime will be pre-installed and you can skip this step.
- Approximate Installation Time → 20 minutes
- Computer Reboots Needed: → 4
This is the real-time operating system (“RTOS”) required to run RMP EtherCAT
- Download INtime. (Contact RSI for latest link at [email protected])
- Open (double click) the downloaded file.

- Run the file.

- Some pop-ups may appear. Allow the app to make changes to your device/computer.
- Click Yes to reboot device/computer.

- Once computer is rebooted, click Yes to continue installing INtime.

- Some pop-ups may appear. Allow the app to make changes to your computer.
- Click Next.

- Accept the licence agreement and then click Next.

- Click Next.

- Click Next. (We recommend not to change the destination folder)

- Select “Complete INtime for Windows Runtime installation” and click Next.

- Enter your Full Name and Organization for User information and click Skip to go to the next section.

- The installer is now ready to install the application. Click Next.

- If you are prompted with a Windows Security pop-up, click Install.

- Click Finish.

- Click Yes to reboot device/computer.

- Open “(C:) > Program Files1 (x86) > INtime > bin > inconfig.exe”
or open on Start Menu under INtime, and as a yellow tray icon.

- The INtime Configuration Panel will open. Double click to open the License Manager.

- The "LicMan" dialog will appear asking if you want to activate over the internet. Click NO.

- The License Management dialog will appear. There are two ways to add a license:

From USB Hardware Key (Normal RMP Customers)
From File (60 Day Demo)
- From USB Hardware Key:
- 1.i. Locate the USB Hardware key and insert it into an available USB port (RSI Industrial PC comes with USB dongle pre-installed)
- 2.Included in the USB hardware key package, there should be a card with a 30 digit license code (License code for this USB Key:).
- 3.Click the “Enter String” button.
- 4.Enter the 30 digit code (with or without dashes) into the box and click OK.


- From USB Hardware Key:
- 1.i. Locate the USB Hardware key and insert it into an available USB port (RSI Industrial PC comes with USB dongle pre-installed)
- 2.Included in the USB hardware key package, there should be a card with a 30 digit license code (License code for this USB Key:).
- 3.Click the “Enter String” button.
- 4.Enter the 30 digit code (with or without dashes) into the box and click OK.


Download the *.lic file attached to the email we sent you and add it using the INtime License Manager.

- Verify the License was successfully installed. It will show up in the Installed Licenses box. Click OK.

- A message should pop up saying that the INtime kernel Manager service must be restarted to use the new license. Click Yes.

- Open “(C:) > Program Files (x86) > INtime > bin > inconfig.exe”
or open on Start Menu under INtime, and as a yellow tray icon.

Some pop-ups may appear. Allow the app to make changes to your device/computer.
- The INtime Configuration Panel will open.

- Open (Double click) the Node Management icon.

- The INtime Node Management window will appear.

- Select NodeA in the project tree.

- Under the Kernel Tab:
- 1.Change “Start automatically” to Yes.
- 2.Change the “Kernel memory (in MB)” to 512.
- 3.Change the “Kernel Clock Rate (in us)” to 50.
- 4.Click Save.


Reboot device/computer to make sure these changes take effect.

Select Legacy for systems with less than or equal to 4 GB of physical RAM installed
Select Force high for systems with more than 4 GB of physical RAM installed.

Failed to allocate memory on Legacy

- Check Force high address space (>4GB) instead.
- Open “(C:) > Program Files (x86) > INtime > bin > inconfig.exe”
or open on Start Menu under INtime, and as a yellow tray icon.

Some pop-ups may appear. Allow the app to make changes to your device/computer.
The INtime Configuration Panel will open.

- Open (Double click) the INtime Device Manager icon.

- In the Left project tree menu panel, click on Network adapters.

- You can observe that the network adapters are under Windows devices. Therefore, being controlled by Windows.

- Right click the NIC and click Pass to INtime using MSI.

- Click the top left red exclamation markto save configuration.

- Once saved you should see the selected NIC under “INtime devices”.

Reboot computer to make sure these changes take effect.
- On Windows Bottom Right Menu, click on the INtime icon under INtime (The yellow tray icon).

- Click Start NodeA if the icon is NOT red.

If everything was successful you should see a RED INtime logo in you system tray.
