This guide will help you get up and running if you have a Windows PC with supported NICs and some RMP compatible EtherCAT nodes.
If you do not have the required hardware components --- RSI would be happy to loan you one of our demo boxes (EtherCAT node and motor) and/or a sRMP (PC) with our latest software installed so you can save some time and try out our software. Email us at [email protected].
The RDK Includes:
The INtime motion firmware.
The RapidCode API Libraries.
All of our powerful software tools including RapidSetup, MotionScope, and VM3.
There are a total of 2 installation files that need to be provided by RSI:
INtime Runtime Installer (Size: 186 MB)
RDK Installer (Size: 32.8 MB)

If you are the first person at your company to use our services, please make sure you have a Google authenticated email account for your company (Example is [email protected]).
Please create a generic and shareable Google email account so that everyone in the company can access to download RMP run-time licenses in future.
A Google email account is required to download RMP EtherCAT motion controller runtime license during the installation process.
1.1.1 - We use your information to check if your PC is compatible with RMP EtherCAT soft motion controller.
2.1.1 - Download INtime. (Contact RSI for latest link at [email protected])
2.1.2 - Open (double click) the downloaded file.
2.1.4 - Some pop-ups may appear. Allow the app to make changes to your device/computer.
2.1.5 - Click Yes to reboot device/computer.
2.1.6 - Once computer is rebooted, click Yes to continue installing INtime.
2.1.7 - Some pop-ups may appear. Allow the app to make changes to your device/computer.
2.2.1 - Click Next.
2.2.2 - Accept the licence agreement and then click Next.
2.2.3 - Click Next.
2.2.4 - Click Next. (We recommend not to change the destination folder)
2.2.5 - Select “Complete INtime for Windows Runtime installation” and click Next.
2.2.6 - Select Skip
2.2.7 - Click Next.
2.2.8 - Click Next
2.2.9 - If you are prompted with a Windows Security pop-up, click Install.
2.2.10 - Click Finish.
2.2.11 - Click Yes to reboot device/computer.
2.3.1 - Open “(C:) > Program Files (x86) > INtime > bin > inconfig.exe”
or open on Start Menu under INtime, and as a yellow tray icon.
2.3.2 - Some pop-ups may appear. Allow the app to make changes to your device/computer.
2.3.3 - The INtime Configuration Panel will open.
2.3.4 - Apply the 30 Day demo license provided by RSI.
2.3.5 - Open (Double click) the Node Management icon.
2.3.6 - The INtime Node Management window will appear.
2.3.7 - Select NodeA in the project tree.
2.3.8 - Under the Kernel Tab:
Change “Start automatically” to Yes.
Change the “Kernel memory (in MB)” to 500.
Change the “Kernel Clock Rate (in us)” to 50.
Click Save.
2.3.9 - Reboot device/computer to make sure these changes take effect.
2.4.1 - On Windows Bottom Right Menu, click on the INtime icon under In time (The yellow tray icon).
2.4.2 - Click Start NodeA.
NOTE
Once NodeA is started, the 60 day trial will commence.
3.1.1 - Download RMP (Contact RSI for latest link at [email protected])
3.1.2 - Open (double click) the downloaded file.
3.1.3 - Run the file.
3.1.4 - Click Next.
3.1.5 - Accept Licence Agreement and click Next.
3.1.6 - Click Next. (x.x.x represents the version number of the RMP you are downloading)
3.1.7 - Install the RMP.
3.1.8 - Some pop-ups may appear. Allow the app to make changes to your device/computer.
3.1.9 - Click Finish.
3.2.1 - Start the INtime Kernel from the tray icon, if it is not already running.
3.2.2 - Open (double click) RapidSetup.
3.2.3 - You will see a screen like this:
3.2.4 - Follow below steps carefully:
1. Copy license serial number and email to RSI at [email protected].
2. Place the rsi.lic in your C:\RSI\x.x.x\ folder.
1. If the RMP Licence is missing, a site like (Observe in image below) will automatically open.
2. Copy the Serial number from the dialog box and email to [email protected].
3. Place the rsi.lic in your C:\RSI\x.x.x\ folder.
4.1.1 - Open “(C:) > Program Files (x86) > INtime > bin > inconfig.exe”
or open on Start Menu under INtime, and as a yellow tray icon.
4.1.2 - Some pop-ups may appear. Allow the app to make changes to your device/computer.
4.1.3 - The INtime Configuration Panel will open.
4.1.4 - Open (Double click) the INtime Device Manager icon.
4.1.5 - In the Left project tree menu panel, click on Network adapters.
4.1.6 - You can observe that the network adapters are under Windows devices. Therefore, being controlled by Windows.
4.1.7 - Right click the NIC and click Pass to INtime using MSI.
4.1.8 - Click the top left red exclamation mark to save configuration.
4.1.9 - Once saved you should see the selected NIC under “INtime devices”.
4.1.10 - Reboot computer to make sure these changes take effect.
Now proceed with running RapidSetup tool to create EtherCAT network by following the instructions from the link below:
You do NOT need to do this during your initial development. You might want to do this later once you have a software or hardware license key.
5.1 Open the License Manager.
5.2 Open File Explorer and type %IntimeCFG%. Open the lservrc file. This will contain a number of lines to match the licenses that you have.
If I wanted to remove the 2nd Invalid license file, I'd delete the line starting with 614.
If I wanted to remove the valid license, I'd delete the line starting with 949.
