Panel Exterior

Power Switch

  • Turning this switch ON will allow the three-phase electric power to power on the control panel/cabinet.

Pilot Lights

  • The Pilot Lights tell you the status of the system.

  • Green Light Flashing: Valve is currently moving towards the open/origin position.

  • Green Light ON: Valve is holding at open/origin position. (FULLY OPEN)

  • Yellow Light Flashing: Valve is currently moving towards the close/target position.

  • Yellow Light ON: Valve is holding at close/target position. (FULLY CLOSED)

  • Blue Light Flashing: Valve is currently moving towards the prefill position.

  • Blue Light ON: Valve is holding at prefill position. (AT PREFILL)

  • Red Light ON: Local Override Mode On.

  • All Lights Flashing: Fault/Warning on Drive. (Reboot (power cycle) the drive if this happens)

Motion Buttons

  • These three buttons allow you to command your valve to move.

    • It will use the motion profiles that are stored on the RapidValve GUI.

    • Make sure the Local Mode Key Switch is on if you wish to use these buttons.

  • Move to Open: This button will command the valve to move to the open/origin position.

  • Move to Close: This button will command the valve to move to the close/target position.

  • Move to Prefill: This button will command the valve to move to the prefill position.

NOTE: When the valve is in motion one of these three lights should be on.

Local Mode Key Switch

  • This key allows you to put the system in Local Override Mode.

    • This mode allows you to use the push buttons to command motion.

    • Turning the key to right will turn Local Override Mode ON.

    • Turning the key to the left will put you into PLC Mode.

AC Unit

  • The AC Unit (by Ice Cube Inc.) was installed in the control panel to reduce any humidity that would build inside the panel, and to maintain the inside of the panel at a cool temperature so that all interior components can work efficiently.

NOTE: To change the AC Unit settings refer to the AC Unit user manual that came with the system.

Lock Switches

  • There are two Lock Switches located in the front door of the control panel.

    • These lock switches are used to maintain the door closed.

Service/HMI TCP Port

  • This port allows you to connect to the AKD BASIC Drive inside of the control panel/cabinet using your PC.

    • You must connect your PC to this port if you wish to use our RapidValve GUI and/or download our RapidValve software into the AKD BASIC Drive (Most of the times you won’t have to download our RapidValve software into the AKD BASIC Drive, since we try to this for you beforehand).
